Burke has been a landscape photographer since 2015 when his journey beginning as a manager at a photography gallery in Hot Springs, Arkansas, belonging to his mentor who introduced him to the art form. Being Chickasaw Indian and descent of a Founding Father of the United States, he loves capturing historical sites, landmarks, landscapes, cityscapes and beautiful waterfalls of The United States and eventually the World.
Growing up in the North Georgia Mountains helped advance his photography with its numerous waterfalls, beautiful landscapes, historical grounds, and unending areas to capture sunsets and sunrises. Now living in Knoxville, TN, he has been able to master this craft with the perfect balance of beautiful historic buildings around the downtown area, waterfalls, landscapes and The Smoky Mountains National Park close by.
It’s the perfect place to continue his passion, growth and fine tune his photography. Using a blend of wide-angle lenses and long exposure techniques, he tries to capture the creative vision for the photo in camera, only using Lightroom for editing and final touches to the photo to match his final vision for the shot. Burke is also available for mentorship through jlburkephotography@gmail.com, if in the Knoxville area mentorship can be in person and on location.
